About

Pizza Cassette is a wood-fired pizza kitchen in San Diego, started in 2022 by Chef Jimmy — a dream that had been in the works since 2014.

Chef Jimmy came up through La Jolla's Catania Coastal Italian and then local favourites Buona Forchetta and Biga, sharpening his craft along the way. In 2019 he began catering and running mobile pop-ups, and in 2022 all of it turned into Pizza Cassette.

He believes great pizza is an art form and that the fire is the soul of the craft. Every pie is hand-stretched from house-made dough, topped with locally sourced produce, premium meats and house-made sauces, then fired until the crust is perfectly charred. Almost everything is made in-house from his own recipes — the meatballs, the corned beef, the chicken, the dressings, the dough.

Alongside the pizza there are sandwiches, salads and other favourites.
